I am an Accredited Investor(AI). How do I verify my investor status on Alta?

To be considered an accredited investor under Singapore law, you will need to provide us with documents providing evidence of such accreditation for our verification.

The documents required will vary depending on the accredited investor type you claim. Generally, they include proof of net income or net assets. You will also need to read through our notification on what it means to be treated as an accredited investor and opt-in (i.e., provide consent) to being treated as one by Alta.

Documents to Prepare

If you are employed and receiving a regular salary, please provide proof of income dated within last 3 months:

  • IR8A / Income tax form (or an equivalent document) declaring income >SGD$300,000
  • OR Employment letter / contract stating position and income
  • OR Salary payslip / bank statement recording such income

Alternatively, if you do not receive a regular salary / unemployed / retiree, please provide proof of assets dated within last 3 months:

  • Financial Assets (>SGD$1 Million) - Bank statements / brokerage statements / distributor statements
  • OR Personal assets (>SGD$2 Million) - Bank statements / brokerage statement / property tax statements (house)* / documentary proof of ownership in owner's name and the value (eg. jewelry or art)

In addition to the documents above, you may be required to provide proof of source of wealth documents.

Next Steps: Completing KYC Checks

In addition to verifying your accredited investor status, we will also need to conduct 'Know-Your-Client' / KYC checks on you. This requires you to send us your identification documents for our verification.

These are all mandatory requirements imposed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. We appreciate your cooperation on this. Once we verify all required documents, you may view deals on our site and invest.
